Prayer for Refugees stationed in Indonesia

We pray for the thousands of refugees stranded in Indonesia, waiting to be resettled in countries such as Australia.

Our hearts are appalled at Australia’s present self-protective stand regarding the desperate Indonesian refugees seeking asylum, especially children waiting to be reunited with their families, presently in Australia. We pray for a softening of hearts in those with decision making power.

We also pray for wisdom and discernment, mixed with compassion in the lawmakers of our country.

We pray that Christian leaders, both in politics and decision making offices in our country would remember Your word regarding the treatment of refugees and therefore obey your commandments.

We pray for a turning of the tide in our land regarding the treatment of refugees and an acceptance of our responsibilities as a major player in our region, regarding humanitarian issues.

As Australia is pleading with Indonesia for mercy for Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran, may we also remember to show mercy to Indonesia’s refugees, in Jesus Name. Amen.
