Prayer Points
Lord Jesus, we pray
• That more and more individuals, in charge and instrumental in the fight of humanity’s exploitation of humanity, such as people smuggling, would recognize their limitations and turn to the Master Strategist in combatting evil; Jesus Christ.
• We pray for God’s mercy on all those who are fleeing or have fled their homeland, in search of safety and a better life.
• We also pray for those in detention centres, who are being treated like criminals, as a deterrent to others pursuing asylum. May compassion and mercy prevail towards them and may they be allowed to commence a new life in the country of their choice. Most of all, may they come to have an encounter with Jesus Christ Himself.
• We pray for the root causes of people wanting to flee their homelands to be addressed. For stability to return to their countries, for corruption to be exposed and dealt with and for warring factions to be defeated or reconciled, in the interest of the people in the land. May wise and respected statesmen and –women assist in this process.
• We pray for many people smugglers to come to faith in Jesus Christ and to become instrumental in fighting this evil.
As always, allow the Spirit of God to show you further issues to pray about regarding this topic.
